Celebrating helpful and friendly service

Friday 5th January, 2018

Each week we receive fantastic feedback from our customers who take the time to thank colleagues who have gone the extra mile to provide helpful and friendly service.

This week we’re sharing four fantastic examples of service shared with us by customers over the Christmas period.

One of our local surplus food donations partners in the North East reached out to us to thank colleagues in our Bettystown store for supporting them so much during the Christmas Appeal in December.

“I would like to say a huge thank you to Tesco Bettystown, Stephen, Davitt & Lena, all in Tesco West street, Donna, Sharon, Philip and Jacinta from Tesco Extra. They were so kind to all our volunteers over the weekend of 1st/2nd/3rd December in helping us collect food for our community. You truly have a great bunch of workers.

Louise from Tesco Mitchelstown really went above and beyond for a local customer who has a health issue.

“As I am dependant on oxygen and need an oxygen concentrator I would like to express my sincere thanks to the  girl on my checkout I was doing some grocery shopping and some Christmas gift shopping and she went over and above to help me. She gave me plenty of time and packed all my items securely and made sure that I was ok to go back to my car. Thank you. It was great to be made feel ‘normal’ for a little while and to be treated with such respect. THANK YOU!”

Cormac from our Gorey store supported a customer to make sure they had their perfect dream Christmas tree this year!

“He was able to speak to a manager and reserve a Christmas tree for me before they sold out, he was very helpful and went above and beyond for myself and my partner.

We had a beautiful Christmas tree for our new home from Tesco’s now that we are extremely happy with and our delighted with his customer service.”

Samantha from Tesco Lisduggan really went the extra mile, helping a blind customer to do her shopping in store and even making sure she was looked after by staff in the shopping centre!

“Samantha took the lady round the shop for some shopping, a regular customer, then the lady told her she wanted some things in the centre, so Samantha walked with her to another shop, spoke to a member of staff in the shop explained the lady was blind and needed assistance, and ensured she was ok , then arranged for taxi to be at front of centre to take her home”

A big well done and thank you to our colleagues for providing great customer service every day
