Finglas native Robbie Kelly has been appointed as store manager of our new Tesco Extra at Liffey Valley which is scheduled to open at 8am on Monday, 28th May.
With over 30 years’ experience in retail, Robbie started his career as a training manager in Finglas in 1987 and went on to gain a wealth of experience in stores right across Ireland before becoming Store Manager of our Wexford store in 1992. He has since managed over 11 stores including Clearwater which he proudly opened in his home town in 2002, Balbriggan Extra, Blanchardstown, Navan, and most recently Maynooth Extra.
Robbie was recognised as ‘Store Manager of the Year’ at the 2017 annual Tesco Values Awards and is well regarded across the business as a fantastic leader, an experienced retailer and a great coach who works shoulder to shoulder with his in store team.
Commenting on his new role, Robbie said, “Our new flagship store at Liffey Valley will offer customers a fantastic fresh and local food offering, great prices, quality and service with the community at the heart of the shopping experience. We’re delighted to be creating over 150 new jobs locally and bringing benefits to local suppliers in the broader Liffey Valley area. I’m really looking forward to meeting new customers, offering real value and great deals to the local community.”

With over 440 free car parking spaces available for customers, the store makes for a totally hassle-free shopping trip. The new retail centre comprises of a 60,000 square feet Tesco store, Tesco Mobile, Vision Express, Costa Coffee, Holland & Barrett and more. It is highly carbon efficient with environmental features incorporated into the store design including energy saving measures, advanced lighting, heating and cooling systems and waste recycling facilities.
Tesco Extra Liffey Valley, located at Fonthill Road, Liffey Valley Shopping Centre will open its doors to customers for the first time at 8am on Monday, 28th May.
