Colleague Health Event- Why not get involved in Movember this year?

With the annual Movember Foundation campaign taking place next month, we would like to share some information on how you can get involved in helping raise awareness for men’s mental health.

 

The Movember Foundation is a leading charity changing the face of men’s health globally. Movember runs awareness and fundraising activities year-round, with the annual Movember campaign in November being globally recognised for its fun and innovative approach to raising funds and getting men to take action for their health. Movember are addressing some of the biggest health issues faced: prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mental health and suicide prevention.

 

Why not help make a difference by getting involved or encourage a friend or family member to help raise awareness from ‘growing a moustache’, ‘moving and getting active’ or ‘hosting an event’. The Movember Foundation have lots of tools to help you fundraise from tips on how to plan your event, to posters to help you raise awareness.

You can raise funds individually, or here’s how to set up a team with some friends, family or colleagues:

1. You can follow the link: https://ie.movember.com/register to sign up for Movember and log into your personal Mo Space page.

2. Click on the “Team” tab, where you can create your own team, edit your team URL and invite others to join Movember with you!

3. To recruit friends, family and co-workers click ‘Recruit to Team’ for pre-written social shares. Simply select any one of the three icons under the text box to share. Have your friends sign up for their own Mo Space page, follow the link to the team and then click “Join.”

4. If your team fits within one of the “Industry Challenges”: https://ie.movember.com/get-involved/network-challenges join the network and compete against your fellow Mo’s
