8 Tips for keeping fit in 2019.

The importance of good physical fitness extends beyond simply looking trim. Being fit comes with benefits such as stress reduction, increased energy and improved overall health. Moving from a sedentary lifestyle to one of physical fitness can be challenging but the key is to start slowly and to integrate physical activity into your daily routine and it can be done by just taking a few simple steps.

Here are just a few tips to keep you fit this year:

  • Change up your journey to work by cycling, walking or getting off the bus or train earlier and walking the rest of the way
  • Introduce walk and talk meetings at work and take the stairs instead of the lift
  • Exercise before work, after work or during your lunch break and remember to be consistent and make it fun
  • Get plenty of sleep and have a balanced nutritious diet
  • Find an underlying motivation as to why you want to be fit and healthy and surround yourself with healthy and positive friends that keep you on track
  • Have a healthy mind-set and celebrate small successes
  • Set yourself a goal, work towards it and always remember to be patient. Getting fit and staying fit takes time, it doesn’t happen overnight
  • Find fun, active, social activities so you don’t get bored
