We’re celebrating our biggest carrot grower, Wexford’s Dockrells

Thursday 16th September, 2021

Carrots have been the bedrock of Irish cooking for generations, being one of Ireland’s most popular vegetables. This week, in the latest chapter of our Food Love Stories campaign, we’re celebrating our biggest carrot grower, Dockrells, a family-owned grower based in County Wexford.

Dockrells has been growing carrots for us for a quarter of a century, supplying almost three quarters of the stock our customers see on shelves. Askamore native, Paul Doran, has been farm manager for 30 years. Paul’s knowledge of growing produce is unparalleled! He ensures each crop has the type of soil and optimum moisture levels needed to produce the very sweetest carrots which ultimately make their way to dinner tables across Ireland daily. Luckily for Paul, the sunny southeast of Wexford is the ideal place to grow carrots, with its sandy soil and undulating land.

Paul appears on the farm and alongside his family in the latest Food Love Stories campaign, where Paul’s wife Liz also showcases her famous carrot buns. As a grower and carrot-diner nearly every day, Paul knows and loves his vegetable.

The new carrot Food Love Story will run across TV, radio, social and digital channels and trade/shopper marketing executions with a press and OOH campaign. You can check it out below:
